Jumble Jumble

At the beginning of the songs there's a part in French: La première fois. Ok. C'est surprenant la première fois et puis après c'est moins drôle? Non, non c'est quand même amusant mais...

    Apple Blossom

A few years ago, Jack and Meg played in a school and the students sang 'Apple Blossom' for them. Jack says that he even cried and it was very exciting.

    Black Math

I was thinking in my time at school when I closed my books and said 'I refuse to continue learning from you'. This music is about questions." Jack said.

Cannon

The lyrics from 'Cannon' contains parts of the lyrics of 'John The Revelator'.

Dead Leaves And The Dirty Ground

This song was written even before the first album was released, but they only released Dead Leaves in 2001' White Blood Cells.

Hypnotize

Jack wrote the song for the band The Hentchmen but ended up not using it, then he recorded it with Meg.

In The Cold Cold Night

Jack composed this song for Meg, but she refused to sing because she was not confident about her voice.

I Think I Smell A Rat

This song is about those boys of the street, that breaking windows and then fleeing. It was composed to exit the first album and would be named 'That's Where It's At', but they ended up recording years later in the White Blood Cells.

Let's Build A Home

The recording at the beggining of the song is Jack when he was little, his brother and mother. They've recorded Jack singing this religius song: 'I wish I I had a little red box to put the devil in, I'd take him out and punch-punch-punch and put him back again."

Screwdriver

This was the first song they've wrote together. The riff was ready when they've saw a red screwdriver on the table, so they's tought it would be nice to put it on the lyrics.

The Union Forever

It has several sentences from the film Citizen Kane. Jack has noted some lines on the movie and began to rhyme.

Well It's True That We Love One Another

That's one of Meg's favorite song. They recorded it in the Toe Rag studio with Holly Golightly. It was the first song that Jack wrote, recorded and mixed at the same day.

St Andrew (This Battle Is In The Air)

This song is about the death of Jack's father, he died on St. Andrew's day and that voice on the song is Meg's voice.

 Effect and Cause

It's about a woman Jack used to love years ago.

 I'm Slowly Turning Into You

This song was composed because of a Michel Gondry's videoclip idea. The idea was a videoclip where Meg would be slowly turning into Jack (physically).

 Little Cream Soda

Jack played that song during the Elephant tour. Jack's nephew recorded it and decided to show the song to Jack. He loved it and decided to record it on Icky Thump.

DVD

You should have seen that in the DVD Jack has 'Obnoxious' written on his arm and sometimes ' Noxious'. It's because the DVD was shot in two different nights and the director was very concerned to make sure that they were dressed exactly equal in both nights. Then Meg wrote two different words in Jack's arm.

Jack spitting in half Black Math solo.

If you watch the end of the show, you can hear Jack saying "Why do not we split the Money 50/50". But that does not work if you go on the menu.

In "Dead Leaves in the Dirty Ground" you'll see something flying near Jack. And during "Let's Shake Hands" you can see that Jack get hit by something that seems to be a shoe and then the shoe hits Meg.

During the credits you can have fun with Jack and Meg dancing.

Meg was sick during the filming and she was also playing for almost two hours! So she seems tired during the recording.

Hotel Yorba's official video clip in fact was not recorded at Hotel Yorba. Why? Because Jack and Meg have been banned from there. And why? They've said that Jack and Meg looked 'suspicious'. Hmmm, OK.

In Who's A Big Baby who sings is Meg. Yes yes, that "gas helium" voice. In fact, at the Blue Orchid's single it says: Who's The Big Baby - Meg White: Vocals, drums - Jack White: Rhodes, marimba, guitar.

In Get Behind Me Satan's England tour Jack changed his name to III Quid and Meg to Penny Farthing. You might be thinking where those name came out from ... Or maybe not ... Who knows? Penny Farthing is the name of a very old model of bicycle. The reason why, nobody knows, you know Jack's crazy ideas.

In The Hardest Button to Button official video clip, the guy who opens a box to Jack is Beck.

To celebrate the band's 10th anniversary, Jack and Meg have played a lot of secret shows during the canadian Icky Thump tour. They've played in different places like a bus, a boat, a bowling, and they've even played an one note show.
