Who are the White Stripes' members? Jack White and Meg White, save those names. Jack and Meg White are their real names? No, John Anthonny Gillis (Jack White) and Megan Martha White (Meg White). So why is he called Jack White? When Jack married Meg he took her last name "White". Jack is only a nickname. Where are they from? Detroit Michigan. Both were born in Detroit? Yes ma'am! Jack was born in Detroit and Meg in Grose Point Farms and have been always lived in Detroit. When the band started? 1997 What is the relationship between Jack and Meg? Jack and Meg are ex-husband and wife (married on September 21, 1996 and divorced in March 24, 2000). Why they say they're brother and sister? Because they want the people to care only about their music. How old are Jack and Meg? Jack is 32 years old (9th July) and Meg is 33 years old (10th December). Are they married? They are ex-husband and wife. And also, Jack is married to Karen Elson. When they've got married? 06/01/2005, in the Amazonas river (Manaus Brazil), after a few months of dating. Jack and Meg have brothers or sisters? And Kids? Jack has two children with his wife Karen Elson, one girl, Scarlett Teresa and one boy, Henry Lee. They smoke, drink or use drugs? As far as Jack and Meg do not take drugs, they are totally against that. Both smoke a lot but Jack stopped with the addiction to improve his voice that was being damaged. In the beginning would be called "The Peppermints" because Meg loves this candy. But then they decided to use "White Stripes" which fits very well with the simple idea of band and their last name. Why Jack loves the number three? Because the number fits with the idea od the band, too. It's always guitar, drums and vocals. Piano, vocals and drums. Marimba, vocals and drums. Guitar, vocals and bongo. Piano, vocals and timpani. Understand? They have already acted? Yes, Jack: Cold Mountain, Coffee and Cigarettes and Walk Hard. Meg: Coffee and Cigarettes Why they only use red and white? Actually, you can see them in black too. This is part of the minimalist idea of the band. Red, white and black are the first colors that we can recognize when we're born. What is a Candy Cane Children? This is how Jack calls the White Stripes' fans. What they used to do before the White Stripes? Jack worked in the Third Man Upholstery and Meg was bartender in a Detroit's local bar. Why Meg hardly speaks on the interviews? Because she is very shy and Jack loves to talk. Does Meg plays another instrument? Well yes, she plays the timpani, triangle (Passive Manipulation), maracas (The Nurse), bongos (As Ugly As I Seem) and those bells (Red Rain). And Jack plays only the guitar? Have you heard him play before? He plays, piano, marimba, drums (not in the band), bass (not in the band) and keyboard. No, but now Jack has two bands, right? It's a reference to the expression "echy thump" from england. Why Get Behind Me Satan? It is Jack's favourite Blible passage. Why Meg is crying on Elephant cover? She represents "The Death Of The Sweetheart". They say that Megbot would be regretting Meg's death. What? Meg died? Who is Megbot? Don't you know about the rumors that Meg is a robot? So ... It says the legend that Meg had died in a car accident and the little girl that you see behind the drums is Megbot (a robot that Jack has made). Why White Blood Cells? I don't know... White Blood Cells... Try to understand. What is De Stijl? It means "style" and was a movement of abstract art. Why The White Stripes? Because is the band's name. OW! What is that songs that begins with a bass? I will say it only one time... The band has NO BASS!!! That song is "Seven Nation Army" and has NO BASS. Who compose their songs? Jack compose the songs and lyrics, they do some covers too. |
